Does anyone know where I can buy a Thermapen in the Montreal area? I don't feel like paying a minimum of $30 for shipping to order an $89 USD item from Thermoworks. Thanks!

I bought one last year through their website and it came through Canada Post. I had to pay $16 in customs fees. I wasn't happy but it is a great tool and is well worth the money. If you spend a good amount of money on a piece of meat it can be ruined with a bad thermometer. Hope you like it!

I had been looking for a Thermapen myself for a couple of years but the shipping, custom fees, etc. had me waiting. I finally found a place to buy one without the hassle. I don't know how long it will last but eatwild.com has them for 96 us$ with free shipping. I got mine today and didn't get charged any other kind of fees. You don't get to choose the color though. I'm guessing they only have the red one. I hope this helps.

If you have access to buy as a restaurant or institution. Sysco/Circa has them for $10.

for what it's worth, I found the Thermapen on Amazon.com, with 10.99$ shipping. (to Montreal). Still expensive, but less than 30$.

That is much better. Unless I hear of a better deal, I will probably go with Amazon.com. Thanks.

Watch out for "brokerage fees" though. if they send it through UPS or FedEx, they will automatically charge ridiculous fees, even if the items are not subject to customs or extra tax. People learn this the hard way.
