FWIW, that's called roadside vernacular architecture. There's a variation of this (the hot dog's on top of the building) at Hollywood & Western called Thai Express or something like that.

    2. Tail o the Pup Video from 2014 of the Pup stand on a truck on it's way to Las Vegas to be restored,

restored and then brought back to LA ?????????

          1. re: wienermobile

But I miss the Wiener Factory even more, and it some ways it would almost be your eponymous restaurant, Wiener.

Have you tried the Wiener Factory ever ???????????

            1. re: kevin

Yes I loved their mild polish and would eat there often.

                Sounds good.

And how about those homemade knishes topped with a boatload of chili and a fistfuls of that exceptional shredded cheese ??????????

Damn, I really missed that place. :( I'm almost tearing up right now.

Kevin: found some photos that might make you happy.

                    1. re: wienermobile

It makes me despondent, depressed, and downcast too at the mere fact that I can't go anymore.

So sorry, What's your favorite hot dog or sausage of the moment?

                        1. re: wienermobile

                          None, I think.

But if I had to say it would be a: Carney's chili cheese dog, which still has that bite via a natural casing, and the dog ruptures and all those garlicky juices comes flooding.

                              Portillo's right ????

I've only been once but once I start eating dog meat again I'll give it a whirl.

There's the location in Buena Park, or is it La Palma, near Knott's Berry Farm, right ????

        1. re: wienermobile

is it going to the dude from "American Restoration"?

          1. re: ns1

Not determined yet. But if Rick Caruso is interested, I'm sure he could find a spot in the north market parking lot of the Farmer's Market, across from Wood Ranch and Maggiano's. That's where I'd like to see it. Highly visible spot with lots of foot traffic.

I miss it and will welcome it back. I liked the boston celtic dog with baked beans on top.

                      1. re: jessejames

Will Eddie Blake's family run it? Or will Caruso run it?

                        1. re: wienermobile

Like him or not I think Rick Caruso is a very smart man. Now if he could only do the same thing for The Bob Baker Marionette Theater he would be my true hero.

                          1. re: wienermobile

not even FSM himself could save the BB Marionette Theater.

                    what the F...

the family isn't happy with Caruso's offer at $200K, and is putting the biz (including wiener and all) in an auction:

in other news, there are now better hotdogs in LA.

                      1. re: TonyC

that sucks. Caruso would have done a great job.

and they had to gettem out of that spot but it's still an empty lot there too

wondering if they can even replicate those dogs and other ingredients etc 10 years down the road...noting they are selling the recipes etc
