Detroit Area Gyros

Being a resident of the detroit area for some time I have noticed that it's harder to find a "real" gyro. What's being passed off as gyro meat is prepackaged reheated flavorless blah. I am looking for the real deal, gyro cut off a revolving spit. Other then treking down to greektown, anyone know where I can get one?

I'm not sure where you are located, but Kerby's in Farmington Hills(8mi and Haggerty) has real gyro meat. I think it's the best in the area.

Parthenon in Ann Arbor has "real" gyros.

I like that you put real in quotes concerning gyro meat. But yes, as far as the unholy/awesome substance that is traditionally used in gyros I must second the Parthenon in Ann Arbor regarding authenticity.

I believe the only place you are going to find authentic gyro meat on a kebab like tacos al pastor is in greektown. I believe all the others in the Detrot area are using gyro loaf.
