Wherever you find Asian markets, you'll find live dungeness crabs. If you can make it to Queens, Hong Kong market in Elmhurst (a block off Broadway) sells them graded by size..you can always find big ones over 2 lbs there.

Fairway in Red Hook carries them occasionally.

oddly enough, Costco usually has them when they have their seafood "road show" which seems to be almost every time I am there lately.
