Lounge/bar,small plates, 15 ppl birthday

Below 30th St. Sunday evening -cute/funky/elegant- Prefer a place that may be a "hidden gem"- not a trendy place, but could be popular- better than decent food and wines.
Group of 15 people , a bunch in the restaurant business, some not, some laid off, all eyes on cost.
Want to chill out and nibble and drink .

Many places I called closed Sundays.

Supper on the LES has a private room and is reasonably priced. The other place I was thinking of was La Esquina's semi-private room. Good luck!
