Captain Ernies in Knoxville

  • 5

Opened in October 2008 and had lunch last week. The Shrimp PoBoy had to be the freshest tasting shirmp this far from the coast! It was out of this world.

  1. It's nice to know that there's a source for stone crab claws, even if it's way far west.
You might want to try the lunch specials at the Shrimp Shak, much closer in Kingston Pike. They truck their own seafood in, some gets cooked for lunch and their frozen entrees to go will feed you really well for a lot less than $75 per couple.
Shrimp Shak will be having fresh crawfish in a couple of weeks.

I didn't know that Shrimp Shack was a sit down restaurant!! When did that happen.... oh...and we have a Shrimp Shack in Farragut also. ...and Halls.

The one in Bearden is a sit at the picnic table for lunch place. (Or get it to go and wander in to the UT trial gardens on a great spring day.)
Their entrees are frozen solid and are how I pamper myself when I don't want to cook.

    2. If you are looking for lunch Capt. Ernies offers that too. Various Fish sandwiches or a "Basket" which consists of half the amount of fish as the dinner and two sides. Both for a more reasonable price of $995. My wife have had dinner here three times and lunch once. We have been delighted with the food as well as the 'down home' atmosphere. Create your own atmosphere get something to go?

      1. Business is great since they have expanded and doubled their size!! Great Seafood.
