Dine LA: PROVECHO RESTAURANT

Third Dine LA meal was a bit of a miss. Place was packed for a mid-week lunch. My first time there, had little to no expectations going in. Jammed into a corner table, was stunned to see them jam another party into the opposite corner, three into a two top.
Food was ok, some hits and some misses.
My appetizer was the best of my three courses: Ahi Tuna Tostada with Lemongrass Guacamole and Tostones. Presented nicely and tasty if not on the too salty side. One of my companions had the Baby Beet Salad with Beluga Lentils, Humbolt Fog Goat Cheese. Surprised to find the beets pickled and overly salty, the lentils somewhat bland. Cheese was outstanding.
My main was Carne Asada Tacos, nothing special here. Another person in my party had the Pork Al Pastor with Pineapple Confit- very tasty. 3rd person tried the Snapper Veracruzano with Cherry Tomatoes, Marcona Almonds, which she liked but I did not try.
Desserts - two of us had the Goat Cheese Cheesecake - Blue Corn Crumble, Red Wine Figs which sounded more interesting than it was. It seemed like they also included some shreds of eatable flowers which were pretty but didn't taste right. I tasted the Spiced Chocolate Cake with Cajeta Caramel, Dark Chocolate and that was delish.
Overall the service was nice but very rushed, like they were hovering over us until we finished a course and then swooped in to clear. At some point they even turned the lights down, it felt like intermission was finishing. Maybe this place is nicer at night, but it just felt like Ciudad in a less interesting space.
I went there for a tasting event where I had some of the food. I was not impressed by much of anything. The spicy tuna tartare was ridiculously hot. The margaritas were pretty tasty and I liked the spiced rim. They also have "Remedy Lounge" which is their club...kinda don't get it. Oh, the brownie dessert and mini cheesecakes were really good.
