Last night I had dinner at Gjelina for the first time. We loved it--loved the look of the place, the staff (very friendly and patient with my frequent requests for updates on how much longer the wait would be) and most of all the food. I had the arugula salad with radishes--amazing--and the margherita pizza--perfect. Best of all--the butterscotch pudding dessert. I don't think I've eaten anything so delicious in a very very long time. A couple walked by our table and stopped to marvel over how good it was! The pastry chef there should get a prize for that pudding. Wow.
I can't wait to go back--but will definitely go early to avoid the long wait.

I went a few months ago during lunch...I ordered a pizza with arugula and white truffle oil and was still starving after. The truffled potato appetizer was delicious but tiny as well. My friends and I were all hungry after and got pinkberry down the street.

i agree with you, the portions are tiny.
imho you need to figure at least 2 plates per person for birdlike skinny women,
and at least 3 plates per person for a normal person

I went there a few weeks back with a typically ravenous appetite after a small breakfast and lunch, a five mile run, and a few hours of housecleaning. I wasn't sure a salad, a pizza, and a beer wouldn't leave me hungry for dessert. But I was satisfied.

Their "larger" dishes tend to be on the small side, I'll grant you, but those pizzas tend to be more filling than you'd expect, despite the thin crust. Your hunger may vary.
