Can you help me cook dinner, please?

I have leftover stir-fried broccoli and mushrooms, with a little honey and soy sauce. I have sausage. I'm thinking pasta would be good, but I don't know how to get it all to work together. Can you help me?

  1. reheat the broccoli/mushroom in a pot or 350 oven and add 1/2 cup of chicken broth and maybe a little garlic to help keep it from drying out.

Slice sausage lengthwise and saute. Add to your pasta mix along with some sauteed onion and pepper if you have it and maybe a little tomato sauce

Salad and bread and you're home free

    1. How about... Preheat your oven to 375ish and set a pot of water over heat for boiling pasta. I'm assuming spaghetti-type, long noodle pasta here. Reheat the vegetables in an oven safe (metal handle) non-stick pan or cast iron, etc.. Take 5 or 6 eggs or so and lightly season and whisk them in a bowl. Drop the pasta in the water and cook it until it's just slightly under-done. When the pasta is cooked, drain it, and add it to the veggies in the pan. Mix them all together in the pan and then pour the egg over the whole thing so that the eggs coat the ingredients and cover the bottom of the pan. Pop the pan in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until the egg is set in the middle. I intentionally left out the sausage because that is an optional ingredient - it might clash with the Asian flavors (you said stir fry), but that's something you'll have to determine.

      Just an idea!

      1. You could also do a soup. If you want to use pasta, it would really only work with something stubby like penne or rotelli. Simmer some chicken broth, slice and saute sausage and add, or you could just slice and add. Oh, wait, if it's ground sausage meat I guess you could make little meatballs. Add the pasta and simmer til done. Add veg and simmer briefly to reheat. Or you could use rice instead of pasta.

        1. For something simple, I'd cook up the sausages, add olive oil (depending on how much fat has rendered from the sausage) garlic, then add the broccoli and mushrooms, heat until cooked. Add hot pasta, toss, add more pasta water if it's dry.

That's exactly what I'd do. And I regularly do it. No single item had enough left to make a meal but all together with some pasta (and cheese, of course!) and it's more than ordinary. My opinion anyway.
