Lovebirds Bakery in Burbank

LoveBirds Bakery (it's been around awhile in Pasadena) is now selling some yummy pastries and sandwiches in Burbank. I'm sitting at my desk eating a lemon bar and it's pucker-up good! Danish and muffins looked good too, and they also have cookies, brownies, pecan bars, croissants, carrot cake and huge cinnamon rolls. Haven't had the opportunity to try the sandwiches but the stuff they serve in Pasadena has always gotten good reviews.
Lovebirds pastries are sold at BACKSTAGE CAFE which is a little coffee place on Olive, about a half block north of Ribs USA/ Poquito Mas and on the other side of the street at the corner of Buena Vista. It's in the Credit Union, IATSE building. Blink and you'll miss it, but worth a stop! Open only mon-fri until 5pm.

  1. Ughhhh. I can't forget the time I purchased two beautiful cakes from their Pasadena location for a party. They were fondant covered cakes so you couldn't tell what kind they were. They told me they were chocolate cakes so I took two of them. When we sliced them at the party, the guests shrieked. They were carrot cakes!!!!! A guest was allergic to nuts so he almost had a panic attack and the guest of honor had a deep-seated hatred for carrots. Needless to say, they were expensive pieces of trash. I never bought a cake from them again.

By the way, their sandwiches are good but all of us at the office joke that you have to put your order in a year early to get them on time. They have the sloooooooowest service around Pasadena.

    1. Lovebirds' other locations are mighty nice, too. I gotta check out the new joint to see how it compares. I personally like the one in Alhambra, because it's close to my house. I like the turkey and cheese on a croisant. Very nice.

      1. Pecan Pie Bar with chocolate chips in it! Thumbs Up.
