Wegmans recently made a "corporate decision" not to carry linzer tortes. :(

I'm sure that I've seen linzer tortes at Leopold's Kafe in Georgetown (link below). You might also try Cafe Mozart on H Street NW (link below), which has a deli and bakery upfront. The apple strudel there is excellent and the place specializes in German and Austrian delicacies.

I have seen them at The German Store on Lee Highway, at Tivoli Bakery (Rosslyn and Ballston branches), and at Leopold's Cafe in Georgetown. I'm sure many of these would bake to order.
