Apple Fennel Sorbet
I had an amazingly light yet flavorful apple fennel sorbet to accompany my salad of apples, shaved fennel muscat grapes, and goat cheese at Oleana the other day. Any ideas on where I can get this type of sorbet? I'm assuming they made theirs in house. Thanks!

Wow, that sounds really tasty. Unfortunately, as you likely already suspect, I'd say it's unlikely you'll find apple fennel sorbet available for purchase anywhere around town. That said, two ideas:
* Although I doubt they specifically make apple fennel, Christina's in Inman has a reputation for making unusual flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sorbets. Worth going in and seeing if they have something comparable.
* Your best bet is likely to DIY at home. Although I don't see anything on the interwebs for apple fennel together, I did find a recipe for wild fennel sorbet (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/pacificnw08282005/2002448557_pacific_ptasterec228.html ) and there are roughly 31 billion recipes for apple sorbet (here's a basic one: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/foo... ). If you don't have an ice cream machine yet, they're inexpensive and very easy to use. From there, it's just a question of trial and error. Good luck!
