Fun place for friends 21st bday?

Hey all,

My friend put me up to the challenge of finding a great place for her 21st birthday at the end of the month knowing I am a big foodie and all. She wants a place that is lots of fun and has a bar for everyone to drink. Nothing that is too expensive since we are talking about a crowd of people in their 20's, however good food would DEFINITELY be appreciated. Would love a really fun atmosphere as well.

I know tons of great restaurants, but I am not too familiar with these kind of hybrid spots that have great food/atmosphere/entertainment at a somewhat reasonable price.

Help would be appreciated as my friend respects my opinion and I don't want to disappoint her.

There are LOTS of places that have great food and reasonable price. Providing price range, number of people, and preference of cuisine will help us to make appropriate suggestions.

I'd say about 20 people- $30 pp max and cuisine we are pretty open. Just nothing too ethnic like Indian or Middle Eastern food.

I often see birthday parties at Calle Ocho, primarily for the AYCD sangria brunch, though that special now extends to dinner service as well. You can follow-up with a bar crawl on Amsterdam.

Calle Ocho has AYCD Sangria for dinner?

I think only on Sundays they continue the AYCD sangria all day.

What is considered a "reasonable price?" Also, please elaborate when you say "has a bar for everyone to drink." Are you looking for an all-in kind of place where you can stay post-dinner? Thanks.

I had a birthday party at Gyu-Kaku, which was able to accomodate a large group of about 20 people. It's grill-your-own bbq so it's definitely festive. I'd also recommend La Palapa on St Marks, which is good for groups, loud, young, and very yummy.
