Pretzel rolls, anyone?

I'm so in the mood for a sandwich on a pretzel roll. Any suggestions of where to get one in the Philadelphia area? Preferably in UCity, but anywhere in the city is fine.

  1. Wegman's makes them. But you'll have to travel to the 'burbs.

    1. Fisher's has soft pretzel dough rolled up with fillings in Reading Terminal if that's what you're looking for.

Hmmm...what kind of fillings? Anything healthy and/or lunch-ish?

I know they do eggs and bacon for breakfast and maybe other ones at lunchtime?

I think I have seen both ham and cheese and turkey and cheese

      2. I grew up in Philly and i never saw a sandwich made on a pretzel roll-- is that a roll made from soft pretzel dough? Truth be told when I was a kid soft pretzels were a dime each or 3 for a quarter.......

If you ever get near Royersford, The Pretzel Depot makes them to order. They take their regular pretzel dough and roll it into a spiral. I've had a ham & cheese on pretzel roll from them and it was really good.

that puts you a few years older than me, i'm guessing - for me it was 15 cents, 2 for a quarter.

          2. Got a pretzel roll from TJs in North Wales on friday. It was the very last one and so yummy I just ate it as a snack.

            1. DiBruno's Rittenhouse used to sell a full-sized pretzel roll that was quite good - not 100% sure if they still have it. If you bring it to their prepared foods area, they can turn it into a sandwich for you.
