Peter Luger--no weekend walk-ins?

I have an afternoon reservation for lunch but would love to have dinner instead. On the phone they say they don't seat walk-ins in the evening. Is this true?

you could also win the mega-millions jackpot. Only time I've ever walked in was 11:30am on a saturdays.

I'd be inclined to take them at their word.

But you can always take a chance, especially in this economic climate. And if they cannot or will not seat you, Dressler is across the street, and Marlow and Sons is down Broadway just past Berry. And a slew of Williamsburg restaurants are within a mile or so. You can run a Google Map on Peter Luger and then search for nearby restaurants to get a list and a map.

If you do decide to go, it would be great if you'd post to tell us what happened.

If you are alone I think you can eat at the bar. If you are not alone, best to make a reservation.

I've always wondered if u can eat at the bar. amybe at lunch, but i've never seen anyone eating there at dinner. it's crowded with hungry steak folks awaiting their tables.
