I've got a craving for seared foie gras, what do you guys think is the best preparation in the city? Quality is a must - quantity a big plus!! TIA.

    Gary Danko is great.

I was underwhelmed with Gary Danko's version (the carmelized onions overpowered the dish in my version) but LOVED Chez Papa Resto. (eaten w/in a month of each other).

I had it there about 4 years ago and it remains the best preparation I have eaten, though not for lack of trying.

I'll second the Gary Danko recommendation. I get the foie gras everytime I'm there.

This restaurant has the best Foie Gras anywhere I have eaten and I have eaten out alot. The portion is very generous and the huckleberry sauce works perfectly but it's seasonal. A glass of Sauternes with your Foie Gras is amazing even if I don't really drink. Enjoy.

Both Gary Danko and La Folie are great.

Gary Danko may have a slightly better sauce, but I have to give the edge to La Folie for having a GINORMOUS portion larger than I've ever had at any other restaurant. I'll take more foie over sauce any day!

that's an old report. is incanto still incapable of properly firing a decent foie?

                just curious.

A long time ago Fifth Floor use to do seared foie on ahi. I was skeptical, didn't order it but I tasted it and it was exceptional. Given the staff changes I doubt they still do but maybe.
