Need a place for quiet conversation tomorrow at 5pm. He lives in BH and I'll be near the Santa Monica airport and he is willing to meet me half way. Thoughts??
Thanks!

W Hotel in Westwood? Craft in Century City? Both have outdoor seating and the weather is perfect for that right now.

Closer to SM Airport would be The Arsenal, sit on the patio. But really, there's nowhere that would be actually halfway since SM Airport is in a kind of no-man's land - a true halfway would be somewhere on Pico, near Fox Studios.

Palomino in Westwood would have good happy hour food, with half-price appetizers and $5 pizzas. It usually isn't too crowded on a Tuesday. Just north, the Napa Valley Grille has both inside and outside seating and woud be a good spot for a glass of wine. Another option would be a patio-side seat at Tanino, in the gorgeous old Alice's Restaurant space on Westwood Blvd. A shame that the most beautiful building, the former Eurochow, has become the new Yamato -- there were some dramatic seating levels on the sides up the walls in there. Of course, all of these are closer to BH.

Closer to the SM airport, you could hit the San Francisco Saloon on Pico and share a happy hour burger, or there is that bikini bar just across the street closer to the 405. Maybe the best place, and the most equidistant, would be Nook. I believe they open for dinner service at 5, they have convenient free parking, a nice selection of wine by the glass, and they wouldn't be crowded that early, though they will fill up. In the back corner of the minimall on the S/E corner of Santa Monica Blvd. at Barry, one block east of Barrington.

How about Wilshire? They have a beautiful outside area and a decent wine-by-the glass selection. It's the kind of place made for this sort of meeting.

You might think about the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel's X bar:

What you had to drink and any other particulars about the ambiance or anything else you want to add would be welcome here.

Have you tried Saluté wine bar on Main Street? It's a new spot. Nice selection or wines and great tapas. Try the pizza.
