I ate in two places, both recommended
Hearts Cafe near the Plaza de Armas, I had the soup and sandwich combo (quinoa soup and a cheese sandwich) for 14 or 15 soles (so $5)
Also the restaurant at the El Albergue, on the platform for the train, I had the alpaca loin dinner, 29 soles, came with sauco sauce (local elderberries), potatoes seasoned with a local green herb, and some other veggies. Picture attached. Entire meal was perfect.
Be sure to try the choclo (giant corn cobs from the vendors near the station..I just avoided the cheese but I think the corn being boiled, no problem)

Thanks for the suggestions including the picture of your meal at El Albergue's restaurant! I will let you know what I think of the food in Ollantaytambo in a few weeks.

I second El Albergue. We had the alpaca and a delicious stuffed pepper. Mayupata is also good for a cosy dinner. Recommended dishes were the andean nuggets (quinoa encrusted chicken) and the andean ravioli (stuffed with alpaca and ricotta). A good lunch place is Puka Rumi- we had the best coffee and steak sandwiches there.
