Back from Key West

  • 6

Thanks for everyones suggestions on where to eat. I loved the BO fishwagon, great food and tons of fun. FYI Alices is closed for now,Im not sure when it will reopen. Antonias was our favorite restaurant, great food and great service, pricey but worth it. We ate peel and eat shrimp ,conch fritters and key lime pie until they were coming out of our ears; the true food stars of Key West !

  1. ah, i think you've posted on the wrong board, though that brings back all-too-pleasant memories of the keys from a couple years ago! i went on a deep sea fishing voyage with a group of 7 friends (found out the hard way the deep seas are NOT for me) and caught two measly mackerel on our 8-hour trip. though we were told these were not the best fish in the ocean, we took them to a BYOF (bring your own... fish!) place in islamorada - i think it may have been called lazy days... and my did they make a wonderful blackened dish out of it! with conch fritters on the side, of course. now i wanna go back!! :)

rabidog, next time try scuba diving. I guess the Coral Grill is probably no longer there on Islamorada, great place to fuel up before hitting molasses reef the next morning. Best place on the planet and such great memories.

I had dinner at Lazy Days on Friday night! My dad brought a nice piece of grouper and it was fabulous!

      2. oh to sit in the yard at Blue Heaven.....

Is that the place where the chickens run around? It's been a few years since my last trip to Key West, but February in PA always has me dreaming of going back.

yes, and wonderful black beans (I have a hard time eating the chicken dishes when the chickens are running around my table!)
