Cooking with watermelon radish
I bought some watermelon radishes today for a recipe I decided not to make after all, so now I have to figure out something else to do with them. According to the recipe ("beef brisket with red miso and watermelon radish") they are good braised. If I don't get any other suggestions, I will probably just treat them like turnips. (Yes, we could eat them raw, but my taste for raw radishes is limited. I like them, but a bite or two at a time is plenty.)
searched around and found
1) with scallions and fresh dill, s&p--serve with rich meats like lamb and pork
2) in butter with garlic and fresh thyme, s&p
slaw with cabbage & carrots, dress with OO,lemon juice, sugar, s&p,fresh mint
they're pretty mild, not hot like some salad radishes.
you could also pickle them in a sugar, vinegar & hot sauce as a side
