Shishito peppers
Had shishito peppers appetizer at a Japanese restaurant in NYC. Are there any restaurants that serve them in Bergen County NJ? Any food stores that sell them?

The Piermont farmers market has a vendor that usually sells the shishito pepper. Not too far from the Bergen Co. boarder, you just need to wait until the market opens again in the Spring.

Shisito peppers have been a favorite of mine for a few years now. Although most frequently I see them offered sauteed, ask for them tempura style for a special treat. I have bought fresh peppers from the grocery at Mitsuwa, although they are not always for sale. Must be seasonal.

i could swear i saw them as a special on a menu at a Japanese restaurant around here....maybe Wild Ginger in Englewood?
in terms of food stores, your best bet is definitely Mitsuwa on River Road in Edgewater.
