Progress: Echo Park Two Boots Web Page and Menu Up!

I can't believe it's been almost two years since I first reported on Silver Lake Boulevard that Two Boots was coming to Echo Park. (http://silverlakeboulevard.blogspot.c...

Finally, after months and months of waiting it seems like it's getting ready to open, though I'll believe it when I see it. For what seemed like forever, the only mention of the EP branch on the site was a holder page with almost no info on it.

But now there's a full web page, with hours of operation, the menu, and the opening month (February!). Can't wait to try the Central Grocery Po' Boy (does that mean they use the olive salad from Central Grocery?!) and the Bayou Beast pizza (BBQ shrimp, crawfish, andouille, jalapenos, and mozzarella). Online ordering and free delivery too.

  1. If they are calling it out as Central Grocery, they better be, cause I will be the first to call bull............ you know what. I order about 4-8 jars of Central Grocery Olive salad a year, I knows my Olive Salad!

BB, I'm already calling it: what the blankety-blank is a "Central Grocery Po'Boy?" Are they trying to sell us on some faux New Orleans nonsense? Central Grocery is, of course, all about the mufaletta. I don't even remember that they actually SELL po' boys, and I spent several years sporting C.G. t-shirts (with the mufaletta sandwich pic) as my preferred work-out gear!

Never having had a Two Boots po' boy I can only guess but my feeling is that theirs is just inspired by those sacred Central Grocery beauties. From the menu: Sopprasata, tasso, provolone, and olive relish and comes with shredded lettuce, tomato, and your choice of garlic mayonaise or remoulade dressing.

Here's a link to a blog with a pic and review of the Two Boots version, kind of disappointing if you ask me, but their po' boy didn't include olive relish so who knows! I'll try one and report back!
