My son and DIL are headed to Sausolito (sp?) for 3 days and plan to take the Ferry to SF. Can anyone suggest family friendly places for lunch and dinner? They plan to do lunch on Monday in the financial district. My son is meeting an old high school friend there for lunch.

They have a 3 year-old and a 1 year-old.

BTW..my son is a professional photographer from Portland, Oregon.

It isn't clear if you want rec's for Sausalito or S.F., but if the former, Sartaj on the lower end of Caledonia St. is funky (good way) simple and friendly. Very popular among Sausalito's working class (yes we exist). Good basic Indian food and adequate American style pies for the kids. I am also a major fan of Kitti's Place and Avatar's on the north end of Bridgeway . They are both "fusion" type restaurants (Thai and Indian respectively) with unfailingly friendly service. P.S. If someone could explain the attraction of Taylor's at the Ferry Plaza to me I would be grateful. I only tried it once, but the cheeseburger, the heart and soul of the operation, was so lacking in either heart or soul, that I wouldn't waste the calories again.
