Why did I hear the closed, I am glad they are still there! Sorry but I thought they had a fire and just moved north,

          1. re: nbermas

They had a fire, repaired everything and reopened. They've also opened a second location up north.

q'before it cl;osed not impressed, Jeff's not so great but nice man, |Top of the Hill - decent, Smokey joes not really but nice location on the river.' A few places in Bridgeport not that impressed. I like it when the chicken is tfully and very clean with no extra fat on it. I guess I like it when you can bring it right to a picnic or someones house and it still be moist and yummy, what are your thoughta.

Harlem a few places I loved becasue the love came with it.

Wait, did Q in Port Chester really close? I was there a couple days ago. Their ribs are usually some of the best I've had...although on the rare occasion, you'll get a burnt batch. But check that again on Q closing?

          1. re: UWStoSONO

No, Q isn't closed. It's open. They closed for like a week about 6 months ago. At the same time. That was it.

They also have a branch in Mt Kisco. But both are open...

              Hi Adam,
Are you originally from Pelham and you worked at the New York Times many years ago? I think I might know you.

I wish I could claim I worked at the NY Times, but I'm a Southern California boy through and through who has been exiled in the frigid northeast for the past decade. Some day I'll follow my manifest destiny and get back to the milder winters and vast array of Mexican food awaiting out West...

                  Adam,
You didn't miss much : re: The Times. But I'll have to try Q. I always go to Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem.

Adam: You should start a blog, it would be fantastic!

Adam: Just looked and I am happy to see your blog, great job! Is it hard to start/

Adam: What do you think of there BBQ? I love brisket and had it the!re once and it was ok, liked the vibe though! So you worked at NYT?

                  1. re: nbermas

I've always liked Q. I've had their brisket a number of times. It can range from amazing to just good. It really depends. At any rate, I find their brisket better than any other BBQ brisket I've had in the area.

I've never been a fan of Q's ribs though. Their pulled pork is pretty good though.

have you been to memphis maes in croton?
                      they area BBQ place

                    2. re: nbermas

I worked there summers and nights when I was in graduate school and I now recall that the person I thought you were had a one letter difference in his last name. I also think the brisket at Dinosaur BBQ is only okay. But the wings are fantastic. If you like spicy food, you should get them with the garlic chipotle sauce. And it's a fun place. Isn't there a BBQ/chili place in New Rochelle?
