Good liquor stores in NELA and SG Valley

I'm having trouble finding a spot to buy quality brew in Northeast L.A. or the west San Gabriel Valley. Isn't there a place to get a sixer of a nice microbrew around there? Guess I'll have to head to BevMo in Pasadena.

  1. The Stuffed Sandwich might be close enough - they have 700 beers to choose from:

They do have some nice brews. But, I'm looking for a store where I can buy a six pack.

I called and confirmed that you can buy a 6-pack there "ONLY" if you buy some food (i.e. a sandwich?) as well.

That may also be their policy (a unique liquor license requirement ?) to order a beer to drink inside.

Yep, Sam and his wife require a food purchase BEFORE you order your beer! Annoying for me because when in that area I typically enjoy Chinese food and would like to enjoy a glass of beer after, when they have something special on tap.

You have to buy it, but you don't have to eat it. I think of Sam's food as a cover charge.

    2. Galco's.

Although a lot of better beers tend to come in larger bottles, the selection of sixpacks is not as large.

      1. I travel to Red Carpet Wines and Spirits for craft micro and Belgian brews. Ask for Alex, he knows beer - period!

        1. The Bottle Shop in Sierra Madre has a good selection.
