Where can I find hash browns for breakfast?

Does anybody know why, unlike in many other parts of the country, it is so hard to find hash browns for breakfast in NYC? Here it seems hash browns are mainly found in fancy steakhouses, while most breakfast places serve home fries. I love hash browns and home fries do not interest me. I've found only one breakfast place that serves hash browns, Barking Dog, and they aren't the greatest. I'd appreciate hearing about alternate restaurant options if people know of any.

You can always go to McD's , BK or Dunkin Donuts!
I have had them at clinton bakery though

I did a find-a-food search on menupages. You have 70 options. Hope that's enough.

good cross section, but at the risk of sounding sarcastic -- not my intent -- i don't think many of these places serve breakfast, which was the OP's request.

funny, i grew up in a place where hash browns were the rule, and i always wanted home fries, the exception :)

Ok, I narrowed the search to breakfast. 33 options.

I didn't think you were being snotty at all. You were reminding me about the OP's exact request, and rightly so. And as it happens, I could offer a more accurate response, and so I did. The internet is MAGIC.

Markt makes a killer hash-brown potato "cake."

I posted this same question several months ago, after I was in LA and loved being able to get hash browns at a lot of the breakfast/brunch places I went to. These are the replies I got but frankly I never ended up going to the few places that were mentioned and ended up just perfecting making them at home!

Here are some places that definitely serve hashbrowns (not those patties either!
