Going skiing at Northstar next week. Looking for good eats within a 10-15 minute drive. Not necessarily pricey but good chowish chow.
Thanks Moe

Here's a recent thread. If you really want to stay that close, you'll be pretty much limited to Truckee and Kings Beach. We've had little snow so hope the conditions change for you --- and my husband also :)

Check out Fifty Fifty Brewing Co. in Truckee for dinner or lunch on a non skiing day. Great beer, pizza and sandwiches and lots of tvs if there is a game on. The Squeeze Inn in downtown Truckee is great for breakfast and also does good sandwiches for lunch. Be aware that there is always a wait as it is a small place so I wouldn't advise for a ski day.

For dinner if you like sushi, Dragonfly in downtown Truckee is good. They have other things on the menu but the sushi seems to be their strong point., The American Bar ,also downtown, makes a good burger. There is a new Burger Joint called Burger Me downtown that seems to be popular but I haven't tried it.

As far as Northstar goes, the prices for food their have gotten just outrageous. I would advise hitting Safeway in Truckee for lunch items, snacks etc. Last weekend at Northstar I checked out their little market and eveything was twice the price that it should have been.
