What is this place like? I've always been by it, but never have been in. Down that way, I usually will hit the Beacon St. Tavern.

I love going to O'Leary's for a drink (they have Boddington's - one of my favorites). For food I'd say it decent, but nothing outstanding. It's all about comfort though, and is a great place to pop into on a cold night.

it's fine; friendly (angus is a great bartender) and the food is good and reasonably priced, but far from outstanding. Don't get fancy; stick to burgers, clam chowder, steak tips and the like, and you'll be fine.

It's more of an old time bar and the bar itself can have regulars camped out on the stools. The food can be pretty decent but like all these places it varies. It can get hopping on busy nights and is much more fun then.

Yes the food varies because there are different cooks on different nights. We love Mark's cooking the best- he usually works Wed- Sun. Great specials whenever he is cooking. We were there recently on a Saturday night and DC had a sirloin steak with madeira mushroom reduction and roasted root veg, and I had a BLT pasta recipe Mark brought back from England. Both were specials and delicious. The other cooks do a fine job with the basics, but Mark is the man. Also of note, the game is usually on TV the but the sound is turned off in favor of Irish music at dinner time.

a couple of things to know:

          1. it closes at 1am, so last call is relatively early
          2. it has live music on w/ends, just so you know what noise level to expect
