Lindt Chocolate Factory – Valentine’s Day on a Budget (pics + prices)

BokChoi Jan 29, 2009 07:18 AM

Found myself at Lindt Chocolate factory a couple of weeks ago when I was accompanying some dining companions on their bi-monthly stock-up on Lindt chocolates. Though I am not a fan of these chocolates (especially once I was introduced to Italian truffles a couple of years back, and recently restocked on some Slitti brand chocolates that should last me a few months), I found the prices at the factory to be excellent. At the time of my last visit, they were clearing out some holiday-themed chocolates at 70% off. For instance, they were selling chocolate reindeers (the typical Lindor bunnies during Easter, but with antlers instead of bunny ears) for about $1.62 an animal.

Some other loose chocolates were also being sold in bulk at 50% off. They were $1.99 per 100g: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3212522431

Lindor truffle mini balls 75% off ($2.20): http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3212522483

A praline box of chocolates in a pretty gift box were about $10 (75% off): http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3213367808/

Perfect for wedding favours, they also provide truffles and tiny gift boxes to be wrapped up for guests. Priced at $8.99 for 100g: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3212522675

Ghirardelli’s were also present at 75% off: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3212522735

As were the single origin and flavoured chocolate bars: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3213368088

And finally, for the couples out there, they had chocolate long-stemmed roses and Valentine’s day themed confections: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-snowpea/3213368034

Roses were $6.99 a stem: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bokchoi-...

Cheers and Happy Eating (and Valentine’s Day too)!!

Located at Markham Rd, just South of Finch in Scarborough

Is the factory any cheaper than the factory outlet stores? I went searching for the address of the factory before it was posted below, but search results also included outlets. Anyone know if the factory itself has even deeper discounts than the regular factory outlet stores?

You're welcome sugarcube. Unfortunately, I did not make note of their opening hours. Nor their contact info to find out further information - just their address. Good luck in the search for good sweets!

Thank you for this post, BokChoi! I'll definately check it out. I like Lindt chocolate. Do they have Excellence bars with Sea Salt? I've been looking for those for quite some time.

Sorry Julia_K. I didn't notice if they carried it. I don't have a phone # for them either, otherwise you could potentially call them up. Hope you enjoy the treats!

No need for west GTA hounds to feel left out, either. There's a Lindt outlet on Kennedy Road(west side) just south of the 407 in Mississauga, too.

I was at the Kennedy Rd. Lindt outlet last Saturday and they had some good deals for Valentine's Day (plus leftovers from Christmas). I was going to buy couverture but ended up buying assorted chocolates for the $1.99/100g (bought about $6.00 worth and it's all gone - haha - I kind of liked the Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark mini-bars and the Champagne truffles) and a 168g box of the Lindor Dark Chocolate Mint truffles for $2.62. Sometimes I just crave Lindt chocolates and love to get my fix there.
