      Thank you kindly Azul H.

I'm looking for sales that are taking place in 2009, not 2008. Any insights would be great.

Only 2 or 3 places are mentioned in those links for the whole city. I'll keep looking. The cheapest I've found is T&T for $9.99/lb

crazyfoodie, I've recently been made aware of the fact that you get what you pay for where lobster is concerned. From what I gather, a good fish monger will know how to choose lobsters that are meaty for their weight, rather than having lots of weighty shell with little meat inside.

I recently purchased live lobsters at Avenue Seafood, on Eglinton just east of Avenue Rd., for, I believe $12.99 per pound. They were delicious and extremely meaty.

I agree you get what you pay for...I love Bill's on Gerrard St in Chinatown East...

At this time of year they are all meaty for their weight. After moulting occurs in summer, many of them will have soft, large shells and less meat inside. If a customer learns how to handle a live lobster, it is easy to tell the less meaty, newly moulted ones.

      2. you won't find it on sale now as the peak season is over.
Look here for the fishing areas and times they are open.

        1. Sigh, they are available in Chinatown on Spadina at $7.99 a pound.
(Specifically, at the 2nd Chinese supermarket South of Dundas on the East side of Spadina.)
