Sake?

Where can I go in DC or MD for a decent selection of sake? I don't need anything fancy... just sake that tastes good.

Does anyone know of any places in DC (or the very near Maryland or Virginia suburbs) to buy a very good bottle of sake? Calvert-Woodley and Trader Joe's don't have much of a selection.

Also, has anyone been to Sei's bar lately? I read on this thread and elsewhere that it has a very good sake list. Am interested in hearing others' experiences and recommendations. Thanks.

Try Daruma in Bethesda or H Mart in Merrifield or Fairfax.

Thanks for the suggestions, Lori. I'll probably check out Daruma.

I know Asia Nine has a number of sake to choose from. It's on 9th and E (same block as Ford's Theatre). There is a sake menu on their website as well.

Sei restaurant in Penn Quarer just openned and they have a fantasic list of Sake by the bottle but much more limited by the glass. Decor of the restaurant is white (same folks that did Oya). Service is very oversolicitious right now since they're new but the bar looks a little less intrusive.

Whole Foods and Balducchi's (in Old Town Alexandria) carry Sake in their wine section.

Do you want a restaurant to sit down and have it served or a store to buy it at?

Preferably a restaurant or a bar. But a store is good too!

Also Trader Joe's in VA sells Sake and has actually a good number of bottles (at least the one near Tysons does). Also there is a sushi place on P ST near dupont west of the circle which has a good list they even have a sake sampler you can order, I will try to think which one it is as there are a couple sushi places there, it is up the stairs on the first level of a place...

Is it Uni? That's the only one I can think of over there.

That's it they have a large variety of sake like over 30 I would guess maybe more.
