Asheville Recommendations?
Our support team dinner is next month and these are the restaurants we are looking at based on them having a coupon on Restaurant.com for a group: Curras Dom, Corner Kitchen, Forest Blue, or One Love II.
I've only been to Corner Kitchen. Has anyone been to Forest Blue yet? I searched the board and didn't find and reviews. Has anyone been to Curras Dom recently?
I wonder if One Love will be the right menu for the group going.
Any help is appreciated.

I have not been to any of these except Corner K. Corner K only serves wine, no cocktails. My opinion of Corner K is that it is a good place for lunch. I think you should consider Southside Cafe, which also has a restaurant.com coupon. It is where my wife and I go most often when we want a nice dinner. You didn't mention the size of the group. If 8 or less, Southside Cafe, otherwise look elsewhere.

Also meant to say although I haven't been to Forest Blue (I have a coupon too), I know Amici had a nice back room that would be good for a larger party. So, if Forest Blue kept the same layout, that would work. No clue on the food though. I don't know anyone who's been. Of course, it's way out of downtown though, so not sure how that figures into things.

Here are my thoughts:
curras dom - too noisy for a group and not that big... last couple of times there I felt like it had slipped.
corner kitchen - would be my choices - the room upstairs isn't private as that's where the bathrooms are but depending on your group size there are more options because they do have indiv rooms.
Forest Blue - no idea
one love - no idea -
I would pick Corner Kitchen. IMO, Curras has gone downhill and it is definitely expensive. Not sure what their offer is on the website but it is no less expensive than Table. As for One Love, we've had lunch there several times, and while I think the food is great, I would not rec that location for a business dinner. Waaaay too casual and I can see picky eaters not being into it at all.
I've never heard of Forest Blue...

re: Jeff C.
It's where Amici used to be - on H'vlle Road

I haven't been and don't know anybody that has.

re: miss piggy
Forest Blue is located where Amichi's used to be. I have had 2 excellent dinners there. The Ahi appetizer was about as fresh as anything I have had here in Asheville. Definitely worth trying. My husband had a steak that was cooked to perfection. FYI; Corner Kitchen, Curros, One Love and Forest Blue all offer 2 for 1 dining on the WNC Insider card.

I took a group of 14 to One Love II on October 15th. I called several times before we arrived to ensure our needs would be met. Instead, our group was seated at two different tables, about half of the group received and finished their meals before the others received any food ~ even those sitting at the same table, service was unbelievably bad, many food orders were simply wrong - not even close to what the diner had ordered, some dishes were just bad - the brown chicken was dry, a pork dish was inedible and, finally, the owner was not present.
We had eaten there about 2 months earlier and had a very good experience. In regards to the October 15th dinner, I spoke with the owner several times in regard to the reservation and our expectations.
If I dared to suggest that we return to One Love II in Asheville, I would probably have to call the APD for riot control.

re: NANCY
Funny you are reporting that. I just went to the One Love in Hendersonville (maybe two weeks ago?) and had the same experience. Our visit over the summer was great. This one was not. Service was poor and food ranged only ok to pretty good (5 people at our table). I was very disappointed. We will not be back unless i hear things have gotten a lot better again. Too bad because we really loved it last summer. :-( I also agree with Miss Piggy that the atmosphere is not really business dinner appropriate.
