Recommendation of nice place to eat in the Valley

I'm going out with 4 friends. I need to find a nice, semi-quiet place in the Valley. Van Nuys/Sheman Oaks area. I'd like to target a place that has entrees between $11-$20

Try Puro Sabor (Peruvian food) in Van Nuys on Van Nuys Blvd. & Victory. More in the $11.00 range and just incredible food.

I haven't been but have read good things on Chowhound about Simon in Sherman Oaks. I think it is located on Sepulveda just south of Ventura Blvd.

Perfect! Simon is an excellent host, it's quiet and the food, especially his lamb tagine is delicious!
