All You Can Eat (AYCE) Sushi in (Westside) Los Angeles?

I love sushi and I am a big guy (6'5"). That combination can be rather pricey and thus I don't eat sushi as often as I would like. I've always been a fan of all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants (not the Todai buffet kind), yet I don't know of any in/near West LA. I'm willing to drive to a good restaurant, but don't know of any yet anywhere around LA.

I tried Hakata once, but read that it is no longer AYCE. It was good enough for a stuff-yourself session.

Any insider suggestions? Hole in the wall sushi joints that have AYCE?

  1. go to midori in the valley. the one in sherman oaks is a quick trip up the 405.

    1. I believe Otom has started their AYCE (for an hour?) sushi nights again. It's near the Washington exit going on the 405N.

I've never been for AYCE, but for lunch, they're okay.

Not that I know of. I drive by almost everyday on the way home from work and they're usually open. I think they even changed the lighted sign outside so it says "Otom" instead of just "Sushi-ya".

it's open and it's AWFUL, GROSS, DISGUSTING, INEDIBLE.

      2. well it's not all you can eat...but its only $2.75 per roll or anything on the menu! Soooo cheap but good quality taste! Sushi Mac.

it is cheap, and, to my tastebuds, sushi mac is just this side of putrid.

if otem is still open....its 38 bucks for all you can eat for an hour. i live nearby so i will let you know.

just on sunday supposedly for all you can eat though

Completely agree. Sushi Mac is absolutely gross. The first and last time I was there, I saw the "chef" take the tempura out of a cardboard box and zap it in the microwave... says a lot about the type of food they serve.

if that's the worst you saw, you were spared. be grateful.
