Boston Bar with a back room

El Bishop Jan 27, 2009 10:32 AM

anyone know of a bar, ideally close to downtown, that has a private room? Looking for a place to hold a bi-weekly group meeting for a few hours and to have a few cocktails/beers at the same time.

Durty Nelly's (aka Pete's Pub) in front of the Haymarket has an upstairs room you can reserve.

For how many people? Would you be eating anything? Tremont 647 has a private room that seats about 12, I think, but I'm not sure they'd let you do just cocktails there.

5-10 people -- actually a fly-tying (for fly fishing) group.

          Fresh water or salt water?

Primarily saltwater but some freshwater too. If you're interested in participating, the more the merrier . . . just have to find a location.

Any location yet? An avid fly fisherman here who would be very interested in beer, food, fishing talk and learning some technique.

Is it the "I hate my job" Group? I hear they meet in a bar...

Not downtown, but The Precinct in Union Square, Somerville has a back room with its own bar that they use for music and private parties.

The Banshee in Dorchester also has a private room.
