Amsterdam train station hotels - good breakfasts?
Among the multitude of hotels around the Amsterdam main train station, are any known for particularly good included breakfasts. We found a star in Munich, even though it was on a shabby street with one of the most lavish included breakfasts anywhere (Hotel Bristol) and wonder if there is one with a similar reputation in this marginally seedy area too.

The hotel krasnapolsky on the Dam has an awesome international breakfast buffet but it's pretty expensive for non-guests. I think the Marriott breakfast is actually pretty good, but that's not anywhere near the train station.
Most hotels that include breakfast will have bread, rolls, jam, cheese, some ham and maybe a hardboiled egg. Maybe also yogurt and cereal.›3 Replies-

The Krasnapolsky is right on Dam Square, maybe a 15 minute walk from the station, but it seems kind of far when you're walking it because it's mostly a seedy tourist strip called the Damrak. You could always jump on a tram, most of them stop in Dam Square and it's only one stop away. Oh, and please do watch out for pickpockets and thieves around the station, on trams and in Dam Square--Amsterdam is known for that type of crap.
