Chinese New Year....?

scotcheroo Jan 27, 2009 07:13 AM

Hello,

So, i'm on my annual search for a decent and somewhat traditional Chinese New Year dinner (I.e. something that includes the various traditional feast items - dumplings, whole fish, long noodles, etc.)

Last year I tried and failed to find anything that resembled this, but ended up having a somewhat enjoyable meal at Full Kee anyway by trying to order these items. I know the Source does a "chinese" new year pre-fixe meal, but $100 it seems steep and it's not exactly what i'm looking for. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

In past years Bob's Noodle in Rockville has done a big feast. Assuming they still do it, not sure if it would only be for last night or all week.

Try Seven Seas in Rockville. I was there on Sunday night (New Year's Eve) and it was quite busy with many traditional fish and noodle dishes being served. You might want to call to see if they are still offering specials for the Year of the Ox.
