Where can I find sweet rice flour?

rockchick Jan 26, 2009 08:14 PM

I just made some homemade red bean paste and would love to make the rice balls to put them in. Any ideas on where I can find sweet rice flour? Yes, I know "Chinatown", but it would be really helpful to know of a specific place as I only have a limited window to go down there and get stuff. Thanks for any help!

You can buy sweet rice flour at pretty much any grocery store. Mochiko blue star is the most common brand available. The Thai market at Chelsea Market also sells glutinous rice flour.

Dynasty at Elizabeth and Hester (though it might be a Hong Kong supermarket), Kam Man Food on Canal, by Taipan. Any Asian supermarket, such as M2M and probably Yagura on 41 St. between 5th and Mad.
