Smokin' Bowls, Rockingham VT

I've driven by this little roadside shack so many times and wanted to try it, so finally I did today. Right on Rte 103, just off the 91 at exit 6. Cash only. Today there were several different soups, a chili and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was $5. I ordered the Apple Onion Smoked Cheddar and it was incredibly good and came with a crusty, country slice of bread. There was also a kielbasa soup, a broccoli cheddar and a chili called Cheech & Chong Chili. The portion is generous (a 16 oz cup) too. Its definitely to go or eat in your car only. But I'm definitely interested in trying the other soups since my first experience was so good.
Also available: chips, drinks, homemade and bought-in desserts (cookies, brownies).
Just wanted to put it out there for anyone else who may have driven by - its worth a stop.
I had some of their soup while at the Vermont Life Wine and Harvest Festival back in September--it was really really good. I think it was a butternut squash bisque. The portion was so big I don't think I even finished it. And the prices were very reasonable. Seems like the perfect location, too--a little oasis off the highway. Hope they do well.
Oh the butternut squash bisque was the other soup on the menu yesterday and I forgout until you mentioned it.
I agree, great soup, nice portion, budget friendly price. The only thing that prevented me from stopping there sooner is that I don't usually carry cash, so it took me a while to get my timing right - hungry, had cash, in the neighborhood. LOL.
