Suggestions for 40th bday rest. in Denver

Would you suggest a good restaurant for 8 ladies celebrating a 40th bday? We're interested in something not too casual and not too posh but with good food and a pretty good scene. What's new there?

What about Vesta Dipping Grill? I was there for a girls' night out last summer and it was perfect.

Thanks to all. Both places sound good. I think either part of town is possible. What about after dinner? A lounge or low-key dance spot?

Elway's, Cherry Creek, eat in the bar area, you'll be deluged with free drinks from the gentlemen patrons, most of whom will be 5 to 15 years older than the birthday girl.

This sounds snarky so far but I'm serious--the food is EXCELLENT, your fellow patrons will be well-heeled (and well-oiled, by the substantial drinks they pour), and a good time will be had by all.

Not new though...the Elway's at the Ritz downtown IS of more recent vintage but I can't speak to the vibe there...

Just be aware that Elway's Cherry Creek - especially the bar area - is known as a "cougar preserve," IYKWIM, and take that into consideration.

What's your price range? Any preferences as to part of town?
