Valentine's Day - Dinner, Wilbur Theater, maybe something after?

Midwest transplant, Nashua resident here - planning to make it an evening/night in Boston with dinner then Frank Caliendo's show at 945 and depending on how we feel maybe some cozy night spot in town. Very open on cuisine types and even price not a big deal - something memorable or interesting. I saw and read about L'Espalier and Chez Henri, Mamma Maria and so on ....one of the problems is that there are many places offering prix-fixe menus but I am ignorant on ambiance and experience.

Proximity to Wilbur is not essential but if there are spots nearby that would be pretty cool....due to pressures of med school there are few opportunities for her to dress up and go out for a night on the town so I would really appreciate your help on this.....

any cant miss after show late night spots that are comfy and not overly crowded and rowdy (hard to find on Valentine's night) but again any recs would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot folks.

OK scored a reservation at Bina for tomorrow night - and now for the last question. They are doing their regular menu and I was wondering if you guys had recs on must haves or something that can be avoided or not missed......

Thanks a lot again for all your help

I wrote a piece on the topic yesterday and focused on places offering regular and a la carte menus. Bina would be wonderful, they are offering their usual menu.

Marco on Hanover street in the North End might be considered romantic. You could share small plates of pasta and carafes of wine. They are doing their regular menu.

A few places, that we like, are doing both a special menu and regular menu- Lala Rokh in Beacon Hill will be quiet and romantic. Union and Tremont 467 in the South End will be more of a scene but will have great food.

The Blue Room in Cambridge is doing a special a la carte menu.

I also provided links to lists of places in the piece.

ok no on Troquet, Teatro and L'Espalier. I am looking at Bina - how would you guys rate Chez Henri?
Any other recs? Obviously, I am running out of time here - or looks like it.

Teatro and Bina are close by and well worth considering for dinner. I also like Avila (have eaten there many times and have never been let down), though not everyone shares the same opinion. Avila also has a pretty large bar that has its own menu. Typically, I'd recommend heading to the Bristol afterwards for cocktails/dessert, but considering that it is V Day, my bet is that it will be VERY crowded.

Grotto (small, dark wine cellar with Italian comfort food) might fit the bill as would Troquet (very close by, great food, focus on wine pairings).

Just a friendly reminder, Folks. Please keep your responses focused on finding great food and drink. Dancing, music, or other entertainment activities are out of scope for this board.

              Thanks.

For dinner, are you looking for romantic? Any other parameters?

For late night, are you looking for a bar? For entertainment? Romantic?

Romantic cozy more personalized over busy generic for both. But considering the timing it would be hard to get anything close to a quiet romantic dinner .... thank you.

Getting a table at a nice, romantic place may be tough this close to Valentines Day. I would give Bina a try. For post-theater, walk over to the Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel for a nice (if expensive) drink in a relaxing and plush lounge setting.
