Birthday Brunch on a Thursday

Hey New Orleans Chows!

Eight close friends and I are going to New Orleans for a cruise. Before the boat departs we would love to get a nice brunch/lunch somewhere in town. We will be staying in the FQ, but willing to go around town. This should be our last delicious food experience before we board the Carnival Fantasy for a couple days of blah-blah food.

Thanks!

in the Qtr., go to Galatoire's. a reservation is needed to make sure you get your table in the time you don't miss the boat. reservations are for upstairs only. once you get there, you may be able to nab a downstairs table on a Thursday (as Fridays are usually very crowded). there has been much debate of whether to eat up or down depending on what experience you want, but the food served is the same on both floors.
my faves are Oysters Rockefeller, Fried Eggplant and Souffle Potatoes, Oysters en Brochette, Stuffed Eggplant, Lamb Chops Bernaise, Fried Soft Shell Crab w/Crabmeat on top, Sweetbreads, Crabmeat au Gratin for starters...most large tables share and pass everything around to take it all in...enjoy!
