Good lunch near 50th and 9th Ave

Something with liquor would be great, but any and all ideas are welcome.

We were thinking about Delta Grill, but I think the food there is mediocre.

Help? ;o)

    Hey, seal,

If Italian food would suit you, Roberto Passon is right there, on the corner of 9th & 50th. We've had dinner there once, and I thought the food was very good.

For Greek food, our stand-by in that area is Uncle Nick's, which is also right there, on 9th, b/t 50th & 51st. Menu on menupages.com.

Our favorite Italian in that area is Trattoria Trecolori, a few blocks away, on 47th, b/t B'way & 8th.

A little further south, the bright, bustling brasserie, Marseille, on the corner of 9th & 44th, serves very good French/Mediterranean cuisine.

Chilli Thai is my favorite (between 48th and 49th on 9th) for everything. And its a BYOB.

If Sunday brunch at Delta Grill is any indication, it's good, not mediocre. But I'm mindful of the difference I've experienced between a very good brunch at Jane and a mediocre, overpriced dinner there, so...

I had dinner at La Vineria at 50th and 9th the other day and it was excellent, especially considering the price and location.
