Ideas for dessert using butterscotch pudding?

A carton of cream was going sour in my fridge and I wanted to try my hand at stovetop butterscotch pudding. It worked great and I now have a big bowl of very rich, sweet, salty and a bit tangy butterscotch pudding in the fridge (Who knew that whisking with chopsticks could give such a smooth result?)

Anyways, eating it all myself is not an option, and it's actually a little overwhelming as is. I'm invited to a casual dinner in a couple of days for which I would be able to bring a dessert, and would love some ideas using the pudding. I could bake up some tart shells and fill them with the pudding and a little fruit, but does anyone have a better idea? TIA

The raved-about Ebinger's Blackout Cake is a chocolate layer cake with chocolate pudding as filling and frosting. (Search this board for links to the ATK/CI recipe). I think your pudding, with a spice, apple, pumpkin, or carrot cake would be a great variation. The original calls for crumbling one of the layers and sprinking it over the pudding/frosting. I would use ground toasted pecans instead.

How about a trifle? if you layered your cake with alternating layers of the butterscotch pudding and a custard, it would take away from your overwhelming flavor. I would think that bananas would be the ideal fruit, no?
