I see that Great Bay Buffet is to open a new location in Newington, NH (Portsmouth). Has anyone tried the one in Manchester?

I've never heard of it before. What is on the buffet?

Is this the place off S. Willow?

Yes, I believe so. Here's the part of article in the Portsmouth Herald:

        January 23, 2009 6:00 AM

NEWINGTON — Great Bay Buffet has leased 7,120 square feet of retail/restaurant space at 5 Piscataqua Drive in Newington from Smokey Bones. This premier restaurant features Chinese, Japanese and American cuisine and offers an all-you-can-eat, freshly prepared, lunch and dinner buffet. This is Great Bay Buffet's second location in New Hampshire. Its other location is on South Willow Street in Manchester, across from the Mall of New Hampshire.

It is the same owner as the one in Manchester off the South Willow location, He has said the second location should be open in April or May, they are currently remodeling the building. He has also said it will be a larger buffet than the original. I go to the original all the time and we all love it, especially the sushi :) My son loves the servers, and they treat everyone like family, which is why we enjoy taking the kids so much. Talk to the owner if you get a chance, he is always on location and very open to any questions you may have. Enjoy!

One more thing, it is not going to be called The Great Bay Buffet, it will be called the Great Buffet II.

If this is the place across from the Mall, we had a xmas party there and everyone loved it. The owner is very nice, accommodating our small party of 8 in a seperate room. I'm not a big fan of buffets but this was very nice.

Wasn't it a different name last xmas? Maybe Great Buffet?

We went to a place in Manchester called Great Buffet in Feb of last year. It was a really good buffet! :) I liked it. :) Do you know if they have a new website now, too?

It is the Great Buffet, never had the word bay in it. weird,

The owner is a really nice guy, I have nothing but respect for him. He always makes sure everyone is happy with the experience at his restaurant. If anything is not hot enough, he will fix it immediately, if there is anything you want to see on the buffet, ask! He has made me several "special" dishes, including some very interesting sushi.

Just remember to TIP those people, including the grill and sushi chef, they earn it.

Drove by it the other day and the parking lot was packed.
