Mushy Millet

I am having a millet problem. I cannot seem to get it to cook up fluffy; it always ends up a mushy mess. I have been cooking according to recommendations found on www.whfoods.org:

"After rinsing, add one part millet to two and a half parts boiling water or broth. After the liquid has returned to a boil, turn down the heat, cover and simmer for about 25 minutes. The texture of millet cooked this way will be fluffy like rice."

Any suggestions?

Have you tried it in a pressure cooker? As others have said 2:1.

that's too much liquid. use a 2:1 ratio of liquid to millet to keep it fluffy - any more liquid than that & it gets mushy.

Yep I cook millet all the time - 2 to 1 max (sometimes less if there are wet things going in it). After rinsing it I toast it, so it is dry again and I like the flavor better, then add the water, bring to a boil and cook.
