Inexpensive restaurant near North Station

We are looked for a bite to eat after a Celtic game. Any cuisine. We are adventurous!

I went to the Waterfront Cafe (across the street from Battery Wharf) recently and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It is basic pub grub. Easy walking distance to the Garden. It will be packed as other posters have said with "Game People". Across the bridge in Charlestown is the new Dylan and Max (I think that is what is called). A sports bar venue. Never been so can't comment. If you go, please let us know what you think.

The Fours is good and the prices are as well.

I've spent many hours at The Fours. The food is terrible but the circa-1977 decor is not to be missed. If I wanted a decent meal, I'd definitely go to the North End.

after the game is going to be tough for any place directly in the vacinity of the Garden. Every place will be packed with drinkers by that point. You'd be better served heading out of that area and to a legit restaurant, not a pub. you'll be dinning around 10PM. Not sure if these are all seating at that time but 75 Chestnut, Scampo, Beacon Hill Bistro, Grotto, Marliave, Moo, KO Prime are all in walking distance.

I was in a similar situation recently. I believe the term "culinary wasteland" is generally applied to that area. I was very unhappy with DJ's at the Garden, which I had hoped while not exactly "adventurous" might have edible pub food. If I were in your shoes, I'd head somewhere else. The cost of the cab will be worth it.

Got to The Fours on Canal St. for decent pub grub. It's a great sports bar.

After the game? Well I am not to into late night dining per se but the only inexpensive places I can think of during that hour is Anna’s Taqueria on Cambridge Street or any of the sports places on Canal Street like Fours. Before the game I would suggest 75 Chestnut.
