Since it's January, you'll probably have to wait until next summer. Every once in a while, Monterey Market in Berkeley has it growing on the cob.

Yep, the corn vendors at the Ferry Plaza farmers market have it in the summer, but you have to ask them to save it for your. I have never tried it fresh, but I have had it frozen or canned and it is not all that in that state.

I've also seen it (infrequently) at the Berkeley farmers market in season.

Try a corn farmer if you want the real deal--there are some out in the delta area:

I once got it fresh off the cob (in Illinois) and it was great. Definitely worth looking for the real deal if you can find it.

I`m in San Francisco. I really wanna try it. And I want to cook it myself, not in a restaurant. I`v been to many Mexican stores, and I always ask if they have it Never got lucky.

To eat or to cook? Where are you? Many Mexican markets have it canned, and some have it frozen. Personally, I don't think it's worth it!

These places have or had it on their menus. Perhaps one of them can provide you with a source if you are going to prepare it yourself.
