Nuernberger's German Bakery at Concord farmer's market

I want to mention this newer bakery stand at the Concord farmer's market. I have enjoyed everything that i have purchased here. The spice stars, a glazed crisp cookie has a great spice flavor, nice texture, with a fresh, homemade taste. I had some of the stollen during the holidays which is made with quark and has a very tender crumb and buttery flavor. Finally, the lemon-glazed almond cookies are lovely and bright. Everything tasted of good quality ingredients, well executed.

  1. Yay!!! Someone else found this great vendor. I feel like I've been whistling in the wind on this one.

He also sells at the Saturday Pinole market and during the summer, the Martinez Sunday market.

He makes a great challah. Unfortunately the kitchen he is renting had a big oven that broke, so he can't make breads like pumpernickle which he had planned on doing.
