Falls Church E Mart grocery up in smoke

The E Mart grocery store in the Yorktowne Shopping Center at Gallows Road and Rt. 50 caught on fire late last night.

I happened to be driving by it last night during the emergency response. There were so many emergency vehicles in the parking lot, at first I thought it was some sort of training exercise for first responders for inauguration day! There were two tower trucks spraying water on the E Mart. The smoke was most foul.

That's too bad. It was a good alternative to the dumpy H Mart and overcrowded Great Wall up the street.

I saw the Post article but couldn't place it from the vague description. Is that the place that used to be a Giant?

Yup. It's in the strip mall along with Grevey's.
